More about this book
Story
Paul Atreides, heir to a noble house, is sent with his family to rule Arrakis, a harsh desert world where control of a rare, valuable substance called spice drives empire-wide politics. The planet’s ecology, its native people, and the surrounding power struggles quickly make Arrakis both a prize and a trap.
When betrayal strikes, Paul is forced into survival among the desert people, where prophecy, ritual, and harsh training begin to shape him into something larger than a normal heir. As he learns the world’s hidden systems, rival powers, religious expectation, and political maneuvering tighten around him.
The story follows Paul’s transformation through shifting alliances, visions, and escalating conflict, while the book’s structure gradually reveals a much larger mythic and political design. Alongside the central rise of Paul and the pressures on his family, the narrative builds a complex future society where power, ecology, and belief are inseparable.
