More about this book

Story

Cinder is a gifted mechanic living in New Beijing, where humans, androids, cyborgs, and Lunar forces are part of an unstable future. Treated as a second-class citizen by her adoptive family, she tries to survive while keeping her hidden identity and mysterious past out of sight.

When Prince Kai brings a broken android to her shop, Cinder is drawn into court politics and a growing connection with him. At the same time, a deadly plague spreads, cyborgs are targeted for research, and pressure builds around the Lunar queen and the threat she poses to Earth.

As Cinder is pushed closer to dangerous secrets about her body, her past, and her place in the larger conflict, she has to decide where loyalty lies. The story builds toward revelations about who she really is and leaves her future tied to a larger struggle that will continue across the series.
