More about this book

Story

The book follows two main threads. Cinder is trying to escape prison and stay ahead of the authorities while broader political danger closes in around her. At the same time, Scarlet is searching for her missing grandmother and learns that the disappearance connects to hidden secrets and a much larger threat.

Scarlet’s search leads her to Wolf, a mysterious street fighter with information she needs, even though she does not trust him. Their path becomes tangled with Cinder’s as the separate storylines begin to overlap and new alliances form. Meanwhile, the shadow of Queen Levana continues to hang over everyone.

As the plot progresses, the book reveals more about the characters’ backgrounds and how their lives are connected. The narrative builds toward converging mysteries, escalating danger, and a wider conflict involving power, freedom, and survival. The story keeps expanding its cast and stakes while maintaining the fairy-tale retelling framework.
