More about this book

Story

Ten years after the revolution, the solar system is still unstable. Darrow remains tied to the war effort, while the new republic struggles with politics, competing factions, and the unfinished consequences of overthrowing the old regime.

The story unfolds through four first-person viewpoints. Alongside Darrow, the narrative follows a Red refugee, a grief-struck former soldier turned thief, and an exiled Gold heir traveling with a mentor, each of them caught in different corners of the same widening conflict.

As separate missions, personal losses, and political pressures converge, the book broadens the scope of the saga and reveals how costly the attempted new order has become. It builds toward larger conflicts and leaves major tensions unresolved for the next installment.
