The Lost Colony

Artemis Fowl discovers that a long-hidden demon colony is beginning to slip back into the present as a time spell fails. To understand what is happening, he sets out to capture one of the displaced demons and force the larger mystery into the open.

His plan is disrupted when another gifted young rival gets there first, taking the demon and pulling Artemis, Holly Short, Butler, and others into a wider chase. As the search widens, the story moves through secret-world politics, clever calculations, and escalating interference from multiple sides.

The conflict grows into a race against a collapsing temporal system, with the fate of the demon race and the hidden world at stake. Alongside the external crisis, Artemis is also dealing with puberty and changing relationships, including a new intellectual rival and shifting alliances with his longtime companions.
