More about this book
Story
In the wake of escalating tensions across the solar system, a new outbreak of violence on Ganymede collides with a larger struggle over the alien protomolecule and its effects on humanity. A soldier, a politician, a scientist, and the crew of the Rocinante each become entangled in different parts of the crisis.
As war threatens between Earth, Mars, and the Belters, one man searches for his missing daughter while others try to understand or contain the alien threat. The story follows multiple viewpoints as personal motives, military action, and political maneuvering intersect.
The separate threads gradually converge into a wider conflict with major consequences for the system. The narrative builds toward a high-stakes ending and leaves the larger mystery and threat unresolved enough to carry into the next book.
