With the Rocinante laid up for repairs, Holden, Naomi, Alex, and Amos split up to handle personal business across the solar system. Their separate journeys pull them back into old relationships, buried histories, and unresolved obligations.

As the crew disperses, missing ships, covert power moves, and secret attacks begin to destabilize Earth, Mars, the Belt, and station life. The story follows each crew member in parallel as they confront different parts of the growing crisis from different corners of the system.

What starts as private leave turns into a larger confrontation with political collapse, hidden manipulation, and a violent event that changes the balance of power. The crew must find their way back to one another while the system itself tips toward chaos.
