The Hidden

The Animorphs are trying to keep a morphing-related artifact out of enemy hands while staying ahead of a tracker that can detect morphing energy. Cassie is the one left carrying much of the burden as the group keeps moving, morphing, and improvising under pressure.

The situation becomes far stranger when an animal unexpectedly gains morphing power after contact with the cube. That creates a dangerous, unstable problem: the creature may be intelligent enough to matter, but also too exposed to let the enemy capture it.

As the chase escalates, the team faces increasingly brutal choices, including how far they will go to protect the secret and what they owe to a being caught between animal and human states. Cassie’s compassion and revulsion collide as the story pushes toward a harsh, high-stakes resolution.
