The Story
A small group of Andalites finally arrives on Earth, raising hope that the war against the Yeerks may be turning. But the arrival is not the rescue the Animorphs imagined: the newcomers are few in number, deeply distrustful of humans, and intent on a ruthless mission of their own.
Ax is pulled between loyalty to his friends and loyalty to his people as he gets closer to the Andalites and learns more about their true agenda. The situation becomes more complicated through deception, hidden motives, and a staged fracture among the Animorphs designed to protect their larger plan.
As the truth comes out, Ax must decide where he belongs and what kind of people truly count as "his people." The book builds toward a reveal that reframes the Andalites' role in the war and leaves the group more committed, but also more shaken, than before.
