More about this book
Story
Max is a fourteen-year-old girl who lives with five other winged, lab-created kids in hiding after escaping the place that made them. When the youngest member of their group is kidnapped, the others launch a dangerous rescue mission.
Their search sends them through harsh terrain and crowded city spaces while hunters, other experiments, and the people behind their creation keep closing in. Along the way, Max keeps uncovering fragments of their origins, their abilities, and the mystery of who they really are.
As the pursuit intensifies, Max learns that the people she trusted may have hidden the biggest secrets of all. The group has to decide how to survive, whom to trust, and whether Max’s strange sense of purpose really means she is meant to save the world.
