More about this book

Story

Murderbot has left its old situation behind and now wants answers about a past incident it can barely remember. To investigate, it needs to get back to the place where everything went wrong without revealing what it really is.

On the way, Murderbot teams up with ART, a highly intelligent transport AI that becomes an unexpected ally. Murderbot also takes a security job as cover, forcing it to pass as an augmented human while dealing with new human clients and dangerous complications.

As the investigation unfolds, Murderbot learns more about what happened in its past and about itself. The journey deepens its relationships, raises uncomfortable questions about control and personhood, and changes how it thinks about freedom, responsibility, and connection.
