More about this book

Story

In a far-future, geologically unstable world, repeated cataclysms have made survival the organizing principle of society. The story follows three women across different threads: a mother pursuing her kidnapped daughter, a girl taken for training after her powers emerge, and a young woman navigating an oppressive system that both needs and fears people like her.

As the narratives unfold, the reader learns about a culture built around seismic disaster, rigid castes, and the control of those who can manipulate earth and stone. The book gradually reveals how this world works, why it is so harsh, and how its people try to endure recurring end-of-the-world events.

The threads are brought together through a mystery-heavy structure with delayed explanations and major reveals. The result is a story about survival, oppression, family, and power in a collapsing world, with the central tension driven by both personal loss and civilization-scale disaster.
