More about this book

Story

Lena is now part of the resistance in the Wilds, where government forces hunt rebels and the conflict over the cure is escalating into open revolution. She must survive danger, shifting loyalties, and the emotional fallout of reconnecting with people from her past while the fight around her intensifies.

The story also follows Hana, Lena's former best friend, now living in Portland as a cured citizen and the fiancée of the young mayor. As Hana begins to question her supposedly safe life, her chapters reveal the costs of the procedure and the pressures of conformity from the inside.

The two storylines move in alternating chapters and gradually converge as the broader struggle comes to a head. The narrative centers on survival, divided loyalties, and the difficult choices Lena and Hana make as their worlds collide.
