More about this book
Story
Charles Wallace begins seeing strange creatures and then falls seriously ill, while Meg and those around him struggle to understand what is happening. As his condition worsens, a mysterious teacher and an unusual cherubim-like being join the effort to help.
The quest turns inward rather than outward: Meg and her allies must face tests, confront forces of hatred and negation, and navigate a world where the smallest parts of life matter as much as the largest. The story links the human body, the cosmos, and the struggle for identity and value.
As the characters work to save Charles Wallace, they also confront bullying, fear, doubt, and the challenge of loving what is different. The narrative builds toward a spiritual and metaphysical battle over harmony, naming, and the preservation of life and meaning.
