The Story

Kate is a tall, strong human woman living among much smaller human women on an ice planet of very large aliens. Harrec, one of the tribe’s jokesters, keeps flirting with her in a way she believes is mocking, which only deepens her insecurity and frustration.

When a side trip to a glacier goes wrong, Kate and Harrec are forced away from the group and into survival mode. Stranded together, they have to rely on each other as injuries, fear, and the harsh setting strip away some of the assumptions between them.

As they spend time alone, Harrec’s teasing starts to read differently and Kate begins to see that his attention is real. Their connection grows through banter, care, and physical attraction, with the story building toward emotional understanding and a romantic resolution, plus an epilogue that sets up the next installment.
