The Story

In a post-apocalyptic Earth altered by a rift, Gabe has been living among survivors and dealing with a red female dragon who keeps hunting him. The setup inverts the series' usual pairing by centering a human male and a dragon female, forcing both to confront what mating means across species and cultures.

Teva is drawn to Gabe, but female drakoni courtship works differently: she expects challenge, dominance, and proof of strength before she can fully accept a mate. Gabe has to figure out how to approach her without losing himself, while also helping her deal with instability, fragmented memory, and the strain of living between human and drakoni worlds.

As the pair move from pursuit to bond, they have to bridge radically different expectations about sex, partnership, and belonging. Their relationship becomes as much about learning each other's customs and needs as about the physical mate bond, with family connections, community ties, and lingering series tensions surrounding the larger world continuing in the background.
