Story
Barry Sutton, a New York City detective, is pulled into a strange case involving people who suddenly remember entire lives they never lived. As he investigates the phenomenon behind these false memories, he keeps finding deeper connections between individual trauma, unexplained suicides, and a technology with dangerous implications.
Years earlier, neuroscientist Helena Smith is trying to build a way to preserve memory, especially for people facing dementia and Alzheimer's. Her research attracts powerful funding and accelerates into something far larger and more dangerous than she intended, setting off consequences that ripple through time and across competing versions of reality.
As Barry and Helena's paths converge, they are forced to deal with shifting timelines, repeated chances, and the fallout of trying to alter the past. Their investigation turns into a race to stop a collapse of reality itself, while both their personal losses and their growing bond shape what they are willing to sacrifice.
