More about this book

Story

Secret Service agent Ethan Burke is sent to Wayward Pines, Idaho to investigate the disappearance of two federal agents. After a car accident, he wakes in a hospital with missing belongings, gaps in memory, and a town that feels wrong from the start.

As Ethan tries to contact his family and colleagues and to understand the town’s boundaries and rules, he meets people who seem friendly but evasive. Every attempt to leave or get answers leads to more resistance, more danger, and more questions about who is controlling the town and why.

The story steadily widens from a missing-person investigation into a larger mystery about the town itself and Ethan’s place in it. As the truth comes into view, the tension escalates into survival mode, with the ending delivering a major reveal and setting up the next book.
