More about this book

Story

Elantris was once a radiant city of godlike beings, but after a mysterious fall it became a dark, decaying place filled with cursed, suffering survivors. Years later, the kingdom around it is unstable and threatened by outside powers, while its old magic remains broken and unexplained.

Three people become central to the crisis: a prince who is transformed and cast into Elantris, a princess who arrives expecting a marriage and instead finds herself navigating court politics, and a priest sent to convert the kingdom to his faith. Their goals clash as each tries to influence the fate of the city and the country around it.

As the story unfolds, the characters uncover more about the ruined city, its magic, and the forces shaping the kingdom’s future. The narrative builds through political maneuvering, religious conflict, and growing mystery before converging toward a late surge of revelations and a climactic resolution.
