More about this book

Story

As the resistance prepares for a major assault, Adam is pulled between the coming battle and his own emotional turmoil. He is still reeling from his breakup, worried about his younger brother, and increasingly unsure whether this fight is really his future.

When the alarms sound, Adam enters the battle and the novella tracks events from his perspective, showing what he notices, fears, and prioritizes as the conflict unfolds around him. The story emphasizes his divided loyalties, his view of the people around him, and the danger facing everyone he cares about.

The novella ends by setting up the next installment, with the fallout from the battle and Adam’s perspective used to reframe relationships, priorities, and the larger conflict. It functions as a bridge into the series finale rather than a standalone resolution.
