More about this book
Story
Juliette is a seventeen-year-old girl confined alone because her touch can kill. The world outside is collapsing under disease, scarcity, and a harsh totalitarian government, and she has spent months cut off from human contact while trying to survive her own fear and guilt.
When a familiar boy is placed in her orbit, Juliette is forced back into human connection for the first time in ages. That fragile opening quickly becomes tangled with attraction, hidden loyalties, and the arrival of a powerful regime figure who wants to use Juliette’s gift for his own ends.
As pressure builds, Juliette has to decide what to do with the power everyone fears and wants to control. The book follows her struggle to understand herself, navigate dangerous relationships, and choose whether she will remain a weapon or become something more deliberate and defiant.
