More about this book

Story

Case, a disgraced hacker cut off from cyberspace by nerve damage, is given a chance to regain his lost abilities by a mysterious employer. He is pulled into a dangerous job involving hacking, corporate intrigue, and a powerful artificial intelligence.

To survive, Case works with a small crew that includes a lethal street samurai and other dubious allies. Their mission moves between the physical world and cyberspace, where identity, control, and reality become increasingly unstable.

As the job deepens, the story opens into a larger conflict involving powerful institutions, engineered bodies, and competing AIs. The narrative stays tense and opaque, with the outcome bound up in hidden motives and shifting loyalties.
