More about this book

The Story

Emerson Watts is a smart, video-game-loving teen who has little interest in fashion, celebrity culture, or popularity. When she accompanies her younger sister to a big store opening, a freak accident changes everything and leaves her waking up in a hospital with a life that no longer feels like her own.

Soon Em realizes she is inhabiting the body of Nikki Howard, a famous teen supermodel tied to a powerful company and surrounded by celebrities, contracts, and scrutiny. While trying to figure out what happened, she has to live Nikki’s life, keep dangerous secrets, and adjust to a world where people treat her very differently.

As Em navigates school, modeling, friends, and multiple romantic possibilities, she also starts questioning identity, appearance, and what it means to be herself. The story moves toward bigger questions about the people controlling Nikki’s life and the mystery behind the body transfer, while setting up the larger series arc.
