More about this book

The Story

Jessica Mastriani is a fairly ordinary high school teen until a lightning strike leaves her with an uncanny ability to locate missing children. She starts using that power anonymously, but the attention soon spreads from worried families to the media and federal agents, and Jess has to decide how far she’s willing to go with a gift that may not always help.

As Jess tries to keep control of her new life, she has to deal with school, detention, family tensions, and a complicated attraction to Rob, a boy with his own trouble and secrets. Her power also forces her to confront the fact that being missing is not always the same as needing to be rescued.

The second story follows Jess after she tries to lie low and live normally, this time in a summer-camp setting where her ability is still very much a problem. More people need help, more people suspect her, and Jess keeps getting pulled back into danger while trying to decide whom to trust and how to use her powers on her own terms.
