More about this book

Story

Miranda, a teenage girl in Pennsylvania, begins a diary as an ordinary life continues around school, friends, family stress, and an upcoming astronomical event. When a meteor hits the moon and pushes it into a new orbit, the world changes abruptly as tides, weather, and the global climate turn dangerous.

As power, food, water, heat, and communication grow scarce, Miranda and her family try to adapt inside their home and survive by stockpiling, rationing, and improvising. The story stays close to Miranda’s daily experience, showing how the crisis shrinks her world and forces her to confront fear, loss, and responsibility.

Over time, the pressure of the disaster changes Miranda and the people around her. The family’s routines become centered on endurance, while Miranda learns what matters most when normal life is gone and the future is uncertain.
