More about this book

Story

Forty women are imprisoned in an underground cage watched by silent male guards. The youngest prisoner, known only as The Child, has no memory of life before captivity, while the others retain vague fragments of a former world.

As years pass, the women adapt to captivity through routines, habits, and fragile forms of community. The Child grows up apart from them, learning to observe, question, and search for meaning in a life defined by silence and uncertainty.

When an opening finally appears, the women leave the bunker and enter a strange, emptied world above ground. What follows is not a tidy escape story, but a continued struggle to survive, understand freedom, and live with unanswered questions.
