Story
An enormous artificial object enters the solar system on a fast, one-time path, and humanity realizes it may be the first unmistakable sign of alien intelligence. A crew is dispatched to intercept and investigate it before it disappears beyond reach.
Inside, they find a colossal cylindrical world with strange architecture, engineered environments, low gravity, weather systems, and enigmatic life-forms or machines. The expedition proceeds methodically, trying to understand what Rama is, how it works, and what its builders intended.
As the team explores, the book emphasizes discovery, scientific reasoning, and uncertainty over action or character drama. The encounter yields more questions than answers, leaving both the crew and the reader with a sense of awe, unease, and unfinished mystery.
