I Am Legend

Robert Neville is living alone in a ruined world after a plague has transformed everyone else into vampire-like beings. By day he fortifies his house, scavenges supplies, and hunts the sleeping infected; by night he barricades himself inside and endures their taunts and the crushing weight of isolation.

As the days repeat, Neville turns to alcohol, memory, and scientific investigation to understand the disease and find a possible cure. Flashbacks and fragments of his past reveal the losses that brought him here and deepen the sense that survival itself has become a bleak routine.

When another survivor enters his life, Neville’s certainty about himself, the infected, and the world begins to shift. The story builds toward a final revelation that redefines his struggle and gives the title its meaning.
