More about this book

Story

Todd Hewitt lives in a town where every man can hear everyone else's thoughts, and he is nearing the age when he will be considered a man. His world is dominated by Noise, secrecy, and a set of truths he has been taught to accept without question.

When Todd discovers a patch of silence and learns the town has been hiding something from him, he is forced to flee with his dog and the few belongings he can carry. The journey pushes him into danger, pursuit, and a rapidly widening view of the world he thought he understood.

Along the way, Todd meets a girl whose silence makes her unlike anyone he has known. As the two try to survive and uncover what is really happening around them, Todd is pushed toward painful truths about his town, his people, and himself.
