More about this book

Story

Months after the earlier volume, Roland travels with Eddie and Susannah while grappling with a paradox that has split memory and reality. The group must recover Jake and bring him across worlds so the ka-tet can continue toward the Dark Tower.

Their path takes them through dangerous, decayed places and into encounters with monsters, broken technology, and hostile human factions. As the journey widens, the group grows stronger even as the world around them feels more unstable and haunted.

The second half turns toward Lud, a ruined city filled with danger and strange remnants of a fallen civilization. To escape, the group must deal with Blaine the Mono, an unstable riddling train, and the novel ends with the quest still unresolved.
