More about this book
Story
Set on a penal colony on the Moon, the story follows people living under Earth-backed control who are trapped by harsh conditions, resource dependency, and restricted freedom. The colony has developed its own speech, customs, and family structures, and its residents increasingly see independence as the only way forward.
At the center is a computer technician who becomes involved with a small circle of revolutionaries, including an older political thinker, a young agitator, and a sentient supercomputer. As they organize, the book explores the mechanics of rebellion, government, economics, communication, and social order in a hostile environment.
The revolution grows into a larger confrontation between Luna and Earth, with the computer’s unique abilities playing a crucial role in planning and execution. Alongside the political struggle, the story keeps returning to questions of freedom, responsibility, and what kind of society can survive after liberation.
