Havoc

Sal is caught in a world of war, political instability, and mounting personal strain as long-standing conflict among humans and multiple nonhuman species intensifies. A researcher uncovers signs of a coup while the army is away, forcing Sal to face problems at home as well as on the battlefield.

The story moves between different threads and locations, including the main military campaign and a separate strand centered on Ryali in Anglia. Across these threads, characters investigate, make alliances, build relationships, and confront the consequences of prejudice, power struggles, and survival decisions.

As the conflict escalates, the book focuses on the emotional and strategic cost of change: battles, losses, new bonds, and hard choices about how to build a future. The narrative continues toward a larger endgame while still providing closure for this installment.
