More about this book

The Story

Four months after the last book’s disaster, Janelle is trying to keep life moving in a damaged world while people keep vanishing. She’s working with agencies on missing-person cases and holding onto the people still around her, even though Ben is gone and the loss still hurts.

Then Taylor Barclay arrives with alarming news: the disappearances are tied to a human trafficking operation spanning multiple worlds, and Ben is the prime suspect. When someone close to Janelle disappears too, she is pulled into a fast-moving investigation that sends her jumping between universes, breaking into dangerous places, and piecing together clues under a strict five-day deadline.

As the case escalates, Janelle has to decide who to trust, what she’s willing to sacrifice, and whether she really knew Ben at all. The closer she gets to the truth, the more the mission turns into a fight for survival, for the missing, and for the people she loves most.
