Wizard's Holiday
A wizard exchange program becomes a two-world crisis as Nita, Kit, and Dairine juggle alien guests and looming disaster.
First published 2004 · Young Wizards
The Story
Nita and Kit set out for what should be a restorative wizard exchange on an apparently peaceful alien world, while Dairine stays behind to host three off-world wizard guests at home. What begins as a holiday quickly turns into a test of adaptation, as both groups must learn unfamiliar cultures, customs, and social rules.
On the distant world, Nita and Kit discover that the planet’s perfect peace may hide a deeper problem tied to its long-ago choices and the role of change itself. Back on Earth, Dairine deals with culture clash, an arrogant visitor, and the practical chaos of housing very different kinds of alien wizards under one roof.
The book follows both threads in parallel as each group faces a separate but thematically linked crisis. The two plotlines build toward urgent resolutions, with character growth, philosophical questions, and new relationships carrying the story forward, while the ending leaves some threads open for what comes next.
