SnowDancer lieutenant Alexei is carrying the weight of family loss and the fear that his own future may end in ruin. During a patrol, he finds Memory, a Psy woman held captive for years in an underground bunker, and brings her back to safety.

Memory has survived abuse, isolation, and a lifetime of being told her gift makes her dangerous. Freed from captivity, she has to learn who she is, what her abilities mean, and whether she can claim a future beyond fear. Alexei, meanwhile, must decide whether he can risk love without repeating his family’s tragic pattern.

As their attraction deepens, the romance runs alongside larger series-wide threats involving the PsyNet, empaths, and other hidden dangers. Familiar pack members and recurring characters reappear as the story advances the broader arc and reveals more about Memory’s abilities and the changing psychic world.
