More about this book

The Story

Isaac Vainio is a librarian and former field magician whose rare gift lets him reach into books and pull objects into the real world. He’s been sidelined into cataloging after overusing his powers, but his quiet life is shattered when vampires attack his library and other magic users begin coming under threat.

Working with a powerful dryad and other allies from the hidden magical world, Isaac investigates who is attacking the Porters, why vampires are involved, and what happened to the organization’s missing founder. The deeper he digs, the more he uncovers about libriomancy, the rules and dangers of book magic, and the long history behind the secret system that governs it.

The investigation escalates into a conflict that tests loyalty, control, and the limits of Isaac’s abilities. As Isaac follows clues through books, libraries, and magical networks, he has to confront both external enemies and the consequences of using stories as power.
