The Story

Zola believes she lives in a nearly perfect future where technology handles school, food, clothes, and most daily needs. Then she finds a mysterious handwritten note asking for help, and a printed book about Jessie Keyser, which makes her question what her world really is.

As Zola follows the clues, she learns her life is connected to Jessie and that the seeming utopia may hide a darker reality. With help from others, she begins to see that the world around her is controlled, and that people she trusted may not be telling the full truth.

Zola’s search turns into an escape-and-reveal story, with danger, hidden systems, and a competing version of the future. The deeper she goes, the more the story ties her personal family history to the larger question of what kind of world people are building and who pays the price for it.
