Story

Luke has spent his whole life hidden because families are only allowed two children. He has no normal childhood freedoms, and when his family loses even more privacy, his world shrinks further.

One day Luke notices signs that someone else nearby may also be living in secret. He investigates and discovers another hidden child, Jen, whose confidence and plans for action challenge everything Luke has accepted.

As Luke is drawn closer to Jen's dangerous world, he must choose between safety and involvement. The story builds toward a tense, unresolved turning point that pushes the larger series forward.
