The Story

Three in Death collects three short In Death stories centered on Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her recurring cast. Each novella drops her into a different investigation, while also giving readers a snapshot of her marriage, her work relationships, and the larger series world.

In one story, Eve is sent off-world for a law-enforcement conference and has to deal with a murder that threatens Roarke. In another, a killer from Eve's past escapes and targets the people who helped put him away, turning a holiday period into a race against time. In the third, a murder in a haunted building leads Eve to an older, long-unsolved death and a case that seems to blur the line between crime and the supernatural.

Across all three, the cases are shorter, faster, and more self-contained than the full novels, but they still rely on the recurring team around Eve. The book emphasizes investigation, danger, and the ongoing evolution of the central relationships while moving through suspense, romance, and occasional paranormal-tinged atmosphere.
