More about this book

The Story

At a New York club in the near future, a teenage girl is struck by a concealed needle during a night out to see a band she loves. She seems fine at first, but soon collapses and dies, drawing Lieutenant Eve Dallas into a case with almost no obvious motive or connection.

As another young victim is attacked, Eve and her team realize the killings may be random and escalating. They work through witness interviews, lab results, surveillance, and profiles while a network of colleagues, friends, and family helps sustain the investigation.

The case becomes a race against time to identify the killer before more teens are harmed. Alongside the procedural hunt, the book keeps returning to Eve’s relationship with Roarke and the broader circle around them as the pressure mounts and the evidence slowly tightens.
