More about this book

The Story

Ten months after the events of the previous book, Dante Valentine throws herself into bounty hunting to avoid grieving the demon lover she lost and to cope with her changed, half-demon state. When psychics begin dying brutally across the city, her work pulls her into a murder investigation that is both personal and dangerous.

The case leads her back to the trauma of her childhood at a cruel institution where she was raised and abused. As Dante follows the clues, she is forced to confront buried memories, unanswered questions about her powers, and the unstable relationships around her, especially with the ex-boyfriend who stays by her side and the friend who brings her the case.

The investigation builds toward a confrontation that ties the killings to her past and to the larger supernatural forces shaping her life. Along the way, Dante must navigate grief, rage, fear, and the uncertainty of what she has become while trying to survive the violence closing in on her and the people she cares about.
