More about this book

Story

After a covert college drug experiment changes their lives, Andy and Vicky discover they each have unusual psychic abilities. Their daughter Charlie is born with an even more dangerous gift: she can start fires with her mind.

When the secret government agency behind the experiment learns what Charlie can do, Andy and Charlie are forced onto the run. As they dodge agents, survive capture, and try to stay hidden, the story gradually reveals the experiment’s origins and the costs of keeping Charlie’s power secret.

The chase tightens into a confrontation with the people who want to control Charlie, while Andy struggles to protect his daughter without destroying himself. Charlie must decide how to use her abilities as the pressure closes in on both of them.
