More about this book

Story

A crew of six astronauts and cosmonauts is aboard a space station for a day in low Earth orbit. As the station circles the planet sixteen times, the book follows their routines, their work, and the physical demands of life in microgravity.

Alongside the station’s daily tasks, brief fragments of the crew’s lives on Earth surface through memories, family contact, personal objects, and private reflections. The narrative moves among their viewpoints as they observe the planet below and react to the isolation of space.

The orbiting structure also opens onto larger concerns: the beauty and fragility of Earth, the effects of distance on perception, and the relationship between individual lives and the larger world. The story remains quiet and contemplative, built from moments rather than plot turns.
