Story
After a doomed expedition in the Amazon, a set of artifacts is shipped back to New York and tied to a strange, violent mystery. Years later, with a major museum exhibition about to open, people begin dying in the museum’s dark halls and hidden spaces.
As police, museum staff, scientists, and an FBI agent investigate, they struggle to identify whether the killer is human, animal, or something else entirely. The inquiry moves between the museum and the expedition’s backstory, gradually exposing the source of the threat and the competing interests inside the institution.
Margo Green, working inside the museum, becomes central to the effort to stop the killings before the opening event turns into a massacre. The story builds toward a high-stakes confrontation in and beneath the museum, with the investigation turning into a fight for survival.
