More about this book
Story
In Chester’s Mill, Maine, an invisible dome suddenly seals the town off from the outside world. Cars and planes collide with the barrier, supplies become uncertain, and ordinary routines collapse into panic and confusion.
As the town is cut off, people begin sorting into factions. Some try to protect their neighbors and keep order, while others exploit the crisis to seize power, cover up wrongdoing, and control scarce resources. The pressure of confinement brings out fear, greed, violence, and unexpected loyalty.
A small group of residents, including Dale Barbara and other uneasy allies, attempts to understand the dome and resist the corruption spreading through the town. The story follows the escalating struggle inside the sealed community as conditions worsen and the town’s social fabric tears apart.
