Story
After a long absence, Dr. Victor Hoppe returns to his birth village with three identical young children and quickly becomes the subject of gossip and suspicion. The village slowly accepts him after he begins practicing medicine, but the children remain hidden and their condition deepens the mystery.
As the story moves back and forth in time, it reveals Victor’s difficult childhood, his outsider status, and the experiences that shaped his obsession with science, creation, and religious conflict. The children’s origin and Victor’s motives gradually become clearer through these flashbacks.
The narrative builds toward a darker confrontation between ambition, morality, and belief. What begins as a village mystery expands into a troubling story about experimentation, responsibility, and the consequences of trying to transcend human limits.
