More about this book

The Story

Years after a collapse tied to the disappearance of bees and other pollinators, Sasha returns to her childhood farm hoping to uncover the research her imprisoned father hid before his arrest. She expects to find an abandoned place, but instead meets a group of squatters living there and must decide whether to reveal who she is.

As Sasha settles in, the story moves between her present-day search and memories of her childhood with her father, gradually revealing how the bees vanished, why her father was condemned, and what secrets were buried on the property. In the present, Sasha’s new connections make her feel less alone, even as she keeps risking the safety of her chosen family by digging deeper.

When Sasha witnesses something that should be impossible, her search turns urgent. The mystery around the bees, her father’s research, and the people controlling the post-collapse world forces her toward a choice between safety and truth, with the lives of those she cares about hanging in the balance.
