More about this book

The Story

Amaranthe Lokdon and her outlaw crew are still trying to prove they are on the emperor’s side after being accused of kidnapping him. Their chance comes when athletes start disappearing from the Imperial Games, drawing the team into a public mystery that could win them credit and possibly a pardon.

The investigation pulls the group into dangerous territory, and their usual teamwork is strained by internal scheming, divided missions, and a new ally who may not be trustworthy. As the disappearances deepen, Amaranthe’s friends are separated, targeted, or captured, forcing the team to operate under pressure while trying to stay ahead of the law and the real kidnappers.

The story builds through shifting viewpoints and a series of escalating complications, including combat, traps, and magical threats. As the team fights to recover the missing athletes and protect one another, the book closes on a strong cliffhanger and epilogue that points directly to the next installment.
