The Story
Liam Digby is twelve, but his sudden height and early facial hair make people assume he is much older. He uses that mistake to slip into adult spaces, and one day it gets him and his friend Florida into a strange contest tied to a new theme park in China.
The contest seems to offer the chance of a lifetime: a spectacular ride for dads and kids. Liam poses as Florida’s father, only to discover that the prize is connected to a real rocket launch and that the adults running it have very different plans for the children than they first implied.
Once the group is in space, Liam has to think fast and act responsibly while still being a kid underneath. The story follows his attempts to protect the children, navigate the adults’ expectations, and figure out what being a dad, a kid, and a good friend really mean when the situation becomes dangerous and unpredictable.
