The day after his wedding, Tomas wakes to find his wife gone and much of the world missing. As he moves through eerily emptied streets, he realizes something enormous has happened, though no one seems to offer him a clear explanation.

Tomas tries to understand where the missing people went and why he was left behind. His search pulls him into a strange new social order, where answers are scarce, beliefs are contested, and his own way of seeing the world is increasingly under pressure.

As he pushes against the new reality, Tomas is forced to confront questions about truth, happiness, trust, and what it means to accept or resist a changed world. The story stays close to his experience, keeping the larger situation partly obscured and leaving room for interpretation.
